Chicken Pizza - Homemade Pizza Recipe

Ingredients
  

Ingredients for pizza crust

  • 1 tsp Yeast
  • 3 tbsp Warm water
  • 1 ½ tsp Sugar
  • 1 ¼ cup All-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 1 pinch Oregano
  • 1 ½ tsp Olive oil/ Any refined oil
  • As desired Water

Ingredients for pizza sauce

  • As desired Water
  • 1 nos Tomato
  • ½ Onion
  • 4 pieces Garlic
  • 4 pieces Dried red chilli de-seeded
  • ½ tbsp Olive oil/ Refined oil
  • 1 pinch Oregano
  • ¼ tsp Salt
  • 1 tsp Sugar
  • 2 tbsp Tomato sauce ketchup - 2 tablespoon

Ingredients for chicken fry

    For Marination

    • 100 grams Boneless chicken
    • ½ tsp Salt
    • ½ tsp Pepper
    • 1 tsp Paprika powder/ Kashmiri Chilli Powder
    • 1 tsp Soy sauce
    • 1 tsp Chilli sauce
    • 2 tbsp Tomato sauce
    • ½ tsp Vinegar

    For fried chicken

    • 1 tbsp Oil
    • 1 tsp Ginger garlic paste
    • 1 pinch Thyme
    • 1 pinch Oregano
    • 1 pinch Rosemary

    Pizza toppings

    • ¼ Capsicum Red
    • ¼ Capsicum Green
    • ¼ Capsicum Yellow
    • ½ Onion
    • ½ Tomato
    • 4 pieces Black olives
    • As desired Jalapenos
    • 200 gram Mozzarella Cheese
    • 1 pinch Oregano

    Instructions
     

    Preparing the pizza dough

    • Take a small bowl, add yeast into warm water and mix thoroughly.
    • Add sugar into the above mix and stir until it dissolves.
    • Set this aside for 10 minutes for fermentation.
    • After 10 minutes, yeast will ferment and form a foam on the top.
    • Take a large bowl and add all-purpose flour, salt and oregano.
    • Add activated yeast mix into the flour and mix.
    • Knead the dough by adding enough water. Knead thoroughly until it becomes soft.
    • The dough will be sticking to your hands. Add oil and knead again.
    • Dough consistency should be loose and smooth.
    • Apply oil on top of the dough and cover the bowl using a damp cloth or cling film.
    • Keep it aside for 1-2 hours.

    Preparing the pizza sauce

    • Take sufficient water in a pan and add tomato, onion, garlic and deseeded chillies.
    • Cook the above mix and let it boil for around 5 minutes
    • Set the mix aside to cool down completely
    • Once cooled, drain and remove the excess water
    • Peel off tomato skin and add all the ingredients into a mixer
    • Grind the mix to get the tomato puree
    • Heat a pan and add oil
    • Add the puree mix into the oil and cover the pan using a lid. Let it cook for some time.
    • As the puree starts to dry out, add sugar, oregano, salt, tomato sauce and stir for few minutes
    • Pizza sauce is now ready and set it aside to cool down.

    Preparing the chicken topping

    • Cut chicken into small pieces and to this add salt, pepper powder, paprika powder, chilli sauce, soy sauce and tomato sauce.
    • Finally, add vinegar and mix thoroughly
    • Keep aside the marinated chicken for at least two hours
    • Heat a pan and add oil
    • Add ginger-garlic paste and saute for one minute
    • Add oregano, rosemary and thyme to the pan
    • Finally, add the marinated chicken and fry for sometime
    • Once the chicken attains the golden brown colour, remove the pieces from the pan and set them aside to cool down

    Final preparation step

    • Grease the pizza pan with oil on all sides
    • Preheat oven at 220 degrees celsius
    • Knead the fermented pizza dough for few minutes to make it soft
    • Place the dough on top of the pan and spread using your hands
    • Spread it out evenly on the pan, keeping the edges thicker
    • Using a fork pinch the dough throughout to prevent it from rising
    • Spread the pizza sauce and then sprinkle cheese evenly
    • Place the sliced vegetables and chicken pieces as per your desire
    • Adding black olives and jalapenos will increase the flavour of your pizza
    • Sprinkle a pinch of oregano on top for extra flavour
    • Complete the topping by adding a final layer of cheese.
    • Bake at 220 degrees celsius for 10-15 minutes

    Notes

    • Set aside the pizza dough for at least 2 hours, so that it doubles in size after fermentation.
    • If possible, marinate the chicken pieces and refrigerate them overnight. This will soften the chicken pieces
    • Always use mozzarella cheese to get that perfect cheesy texture
    • While preparing pizza, it is always better to have all the toppings and cheese at room temperature
    • If the dough sticks to your hand after fermentation, sprinkle flour and knead to make it soft
    • While preparing the chicken topping, adding 1-2 tablespoons of prepared pizza sauce will increase the flavour of the chicken pieces
    • You can always skip thyme and rosemary if they are not available
    • Adding pizza mix/mixed herbs will increase the flavour
