Classic French Toast Recipe


  • 4 slices of bread
  • 2 eggs
  • ½ cup of milk
  • 1 tsp of vanilla extract
  • ¼ tsp of cinnamon
  • Pinch of salt
  • Butter or oil for frying
  • Maple syrup powdered sugar, or fruit for topping (optional)


  • In a shallow dish, whisk together the eggs, milk, vanilla extract, cinnamon, and salt.
  • Dip each slice of bread into the egg mixture, making sure both sides are evenly coated.
  • Heat a skillet over medium heat and add butter or oil.
  • Once the butter or oil is hot, add the slices of bread to the skillet.
  • Cook for 2-3 minutes on each side, or until golden brown.
  • Serve hot with maple syrup, powdered sugar, or fruit on top (optional).
